@GREG: Curious to understand where and how your service provider contacts would be of value to us in the AMERICAS - which is my main focus

Thanks
Very nice, thank you Alec, James and Roland!
Ian F. Hood said:
so the call just drops?
Handoff: Industry people always ask about this, customers never do!

Now to head away from my house (with WiFi) to see how the GSM side works.

Good stuff.
had to go onto my 830 Nokia call, sorry
US SMS now working well AFAIK - local gateways etc.
Free calling to 40 countries was a launch offer, and as you say expires soon...
Ian F. Hood said:
ROFL
@Greg: We can do this, but we actually don't log that much that isn't call or SMS related at the moment. e.g. we don't log location.
I agree Jonathan. It's a complete service...
Although I obviously haven't been able to use Truphone Anywhere yet but it appears to address the single biggest issue I could see with Truphone - didn't work outside WiFi. Strikes me as the most significant development to date.
Greg McQuay said:
Are you monitoring user behavior in the back ground? Key presses, affinity, location correlations etc.
well said Roland!
My experience of startup exits is that they are hardly ever the obvious buyer!
Jim Courtney said:
Truphone 4 installed on my N95.
Greg McQuay said:
Who is your likely head to head competiton in this segment. Fring? This begs who do you exit to?
Data SIM likely to have good rates in a selected range of countries (~40). Data rates comparable to local prepay, not better.
I've only been able to use it a couple of times. It doesn't like me apparently.
I love Truphone. Been using it for a year now.
Yay Jonathan!
V4 now installed on my E51. Looking good.
@Greg: Not really. It sits there on the wish list but no signs of getting to the top at the moment :-)

Any plans for multiple media, mostly video, photo's and graphics. Not a priority as much as curiosity.
Thank you :)
What was the patent for?
Yes, Sim4Travel is usable in the US

Dan York said:
"Crikey"... a word we don't hear too often on this side of the pond. :-)

@Wilhelm: Some other countries, and more to come
What is sim4travel? Simply mobility?

William Volk said:

I Have a handset problem.
Truphone SMS works very well. Much cheaper for international SMS.
Truphone charges for calls, on a Prepay basis.
Greg McQuay said:
How does Truphone make money? You may have siad but I did not hear.
Dan York said:
4G networks *could* be WiMAX, but also could be LTE.
Just waiting for the handset support ;-)
Dan York said:
Hmmm... WiMAX does *NOT* equal "4G".

Greg McQuay said:
How do the carries react to this when you have interests in retail handset sales?
Yes, there is a menu item that tells you the call-through number so you can add to the my 5 list
