I want to be able to work Skype video from my Nokia N95 or N96 - any plans to facilitate this?

Phil's turn on the wheel!
he's got no facebook profile behind him

Why is Mike BLACK on the web UI, whilst most others are BLUE?
It's google that has corrupted the meaning of beta
that's what a beta test is for ;)

We are all guinea pigs for Skype!
James Body said:
OK - I will take that as a challenge! Anyone want to test train mobile v4.0 Skype video on the way home tonight?
Phil Wolff said:
(ahem, it's now the 4.X discussion)
Or what you call him ;-)

Wow, we get to tune in to watch Alec watching tv? (can't wait) ;-)

I will be doing a post this weekend about how one service gets around those expensive calls to "Caller Pays" mobile phones because of the availability of CLI (CallerID) for North Americans.
very true, Jon!
It's called silent mode https://developer.skype.com/Docs/ApiDoc/SILENT_MODE<br/>(but I don't think the beta has it working)
I really like the new CLI functionality that lets you set your mobile number as your Skype CLI. Helps to integrate Skype with an existing inbound telephony strategy. Skype presents my Truphone CLI. I guess that is Skype / Truphone integration (James)!

however, there were many capabilities that were only available via the UI
I have an iPhone! Not totally Mr. Microsoft.

Ha! Alec = Mr Microsoft

I have Skype on my Apple TV too!

I suspect that the majority here are Mac users

One of the most powerful features of Skype that I use extensively is high quality video - as I travel a lot I now rely on Skype to see my family - we now do children's homework assistance by Skype. One feature that I really appreciate is that my wife finds it much more difficult to be cross when I can make faces at her!
Interesting that ;)
PC = "us" Mac = "them" ;)

The new UI seems to be more - browserly? with text wrapping, etc. Do you imagine opening up the new UI for third parties to manipulate and extend through plug-ins and APIs?
Ian F. Hood said:
Wow.. good turn around time ;-)
ouch, Linux UI is with QT, not GTK :)

Firefox 3 released the other day with support for Windows, Mac and Linux. What is Skype doing to make it possible to have concurrent releases on all 3 platforms? We all know that Windows has the largest market share but Mac is making significant in-roads.
James Body said:
Mike - can you comment on where Skype is going with respect to interoperation with other services (like the Iotum/Calliflower conference service)?
Phil Wolff said:
Q. The new design seems to help newbies make it through installation and setup to their first call. This should help reduce newbie abandonment. What is the abandonment rate on the old releases? What rate of improvement are you shooting for?
James Body said:
We have heard horror stories about installation of the 4.x beta screwing up peoples configuration - what is the true story here?
James Body said:
FF3 refresh fine here - but did take minutes to load
Phil Wolff said:
Q. How does the new UI work when you have dozens of active conversations, hundreds of active contacts? How does it scale for power users?
I am using FF3 on XP and it refreshes fine
works great for me to Jon
Dan. This is XP. That's probably why!

Did you know that today is the "Happest Day" of the year
refresh works ok for me on FF 3
Dan York said:
Jonathan... mine's refreshing fine in FF3 on my Mac.
Something strange since I installed Firefox 3. My conference call page in Facebook doesn't refresh during the call any more. Anyone else seen this?

Y'all have a great weekend too Jeanette!
Have a glorious weekend! Talk to you all (my Southern speak is back on) on Tuesday.

might have been me ... calling using skype ... but just put it on mute
Hello from Ft Lauderdale. Have a great call. I'm spying on you...
Dan York said:
Well, since you were slacking a bit and didn't put up the background links, I figured someone had to! ;-)
Dan has been a wild man!
