T-Moble has blocked apps in the USA
Sorry I had to drop of the call. Had to take an urgent call here. Good discussion today.
by blocking HTTP access to a specific URL
so the app would not function
I expect Apple will have a tablet computer in the next year
the big news will be when feature phones get Android
218 in Minnesota has those subsidized CO's.
Google won't lock stuff down but the carriers will - exactly Alex
on the other hand, my old T-Mobile Nokia 6600 worked all over the world. That had the best 'joystick' of any phone
could be anything. I will check into it when I get off the line
be a Quad band phone...
I had trouble when my Bold tried to use T-Mobile; had to lock it into AT&T to get full roaming capability.
Apple has locked down Pinch/Grab etc. in so many patents no one will touch it for fear of Teams of Apple Lawyers
Good Question Dan - also, why does anyone want to develop for Android when there are 8M iPhones are sold a quarter. Right now there are I think the 5 HTC phones that we saw on stage.. I think we are still 18 months from anything happening on Android
look at what T-Mobile did in Germany with VOIP apps?
does t-mobile have veto power?
Hudson, I hung up and called in again.
if a year away, then a year too late
Jim. whatever you did differently worked
more slices of augmented reality
good question ...
I think it may be your firewall again?
I have had my end muted via Skype for the past five minutes.
OK, A KIM1 on a 110 Baud Telenet ...
am going to hang up and call in again.
It seems to me as if Skype's mute function is still sending us some data. I've never heard that noise before.
can you open the lines back up?
I have a different headset on with the mic switch off as well as SkypeOut muted.
now that you're muted on the Calliflower end, no noise
BRING ON THE NOISE!
I haven't seen anything on charging for apps
Jim, please mute
just raise hands when you want to participate.
<br/>Alec, as moderator can you not mute everybody?
I still think it's Jim phone, it sounds like this when he talks
Is there any near field capability? i.e. RFID
how can you hear him? what was the question?
has it gone away?
Maybe it's a Timex Sinclar
no the C64 worked better than that
Jim - your sound is absolutely horrid!
he's running SIP on a C64 with a 1200 baud daulup
Ah yes, the Firewall blocking packets
wow his audio is bad!
Jim - you're nearly unintelligible
here's the source, who ever is speaking now
The problem is the sound is intermittent
Trouble is it's HTC!
nice noise on the line today
where is that coming from?
Got 3 recorded messages telling me all circuits were busy when calling in.
Most of T-Mobile is 33kbpa
Interesting video, Dan. Puts the android launch into the context of "IP dialtone"
full bars but a lousy signal
anything on the "App Market", do you need T-Mobile approval to sell apps thru this?
