In the downward job trend do you think crowdsourcing sites like mechanical turk, 99designs, etc will go up in use? Granted those are specific to set job capabilities but in general.. an onward trend?

Are there any real patterns or evidence that support- having a blog or in the social network space actually helps you or hinders you?

I agree with Marshall. i see that some of these companies that are laying people off are actually getting funds and have favorable outlooks.
