I just heard a little bit of the phone conf. and look forward to hearing the entire archived podcast. Quite a bit I could say about social media uses and issues in the health care industry. Some of you may want to read my client Sutter blog at: http://suttermedicalcentercastrovalley.org/blog/ and follow @SutterEdenMed on Twitter to get an idea. We have other social network links from the blog, i.e. Facebook, LinkedIn, FriendFeed, Twitter, YouTube, MySpace. Thanks for doing this podcast! (I'm @CreativeSage on Twitter.)

thanks for putting this together guys.
ok, I'll pull you in
ahh - good you're off now
I don't mind asking
ok - do you want to ask it or do you want me to ask it for you?
@phil are you on mute on your end?
Phil you are next I'm unmutting you now
we can learn a lot from healthcare for the masses in emerging markets...the non-specialist health field worker is playing a critical role in primary care
Jen: tech v/c startups may help. but overall I think the industry will have to see the benefits of these tools and the benefits of a strategy that incorporates them.
Phil - great one! Recruit from outside? Pay attention to tech/VC/startups in other sectors?
Sean: Overall, there seems to be a huge technology-knowledge gap in healthcare. How do the entrepreneurs for health 2.0 plan to address this gap?
also, legislative plans with PE Obama taking office, focus on universal care?
Sean - for each company, to put Athena Health growth (30% next year) in perspective, what are their projected growth rates? (will they answer? :)
anyone want to ask a question?
Imran - yes. Scary part is Uncle Sam is waking up with regard to Health IT, national EHR network, etc. If entrepreneurs don't build that platform (at least one that works) quickly, we'll be facing legislative onus as well.
or before the gov't at least
i agree with entrepreneurs bringing value and change before the healthcare industry
overly simplistic, yes. But it is one concrete suggestion. I'd like to hear more.
just focus on creation of DRGs that get docs *paid* to bring healthcare conversation online. Care transactions will follow.
misalignment - form lobby. Get dollars, PAC. Go lobby CMS, reps etc. to incentivize online care provision by docs, NPs, etc (email, online chat, videochat, etc.) - create new DRG classifications for channels (online care, in person care, telehealth, mHealth, eHealth)
If you have a mic / are on the phone and want to ask a question -- please 'raise your hand'
the healthcare industry will not only have to 'catch up' (by the time it catches up it will be behind): it will have to think ahead and probably will have to skip the steps that other industries have taken in the last 5-10 years.
yeah... @imsobe
@Imran - are you on Twitter?
glad to hear an advocate for the user!
@jen - what is your Twitter name?
ps - livetweeting call
Cathryn - please 'raise your hand' in the last 15 minutes and ask a question / share a comment!

I'm sorry I didn't know about this in advance. I would love to have participated, since I'm doing social media for Sutter Health in California (along with a partner and some staff). Now is not a great time for me to do a call. Will this be archived?
but information must be available first (cost, quality, safety, right now we still need the healthcare encyclopedia, and have just started to talk about what we're finding when we crack the spine)
sharing, then transparency, then can incentivize behavioral change (both carrot and stick)
so some companies on here are 2.0 by those terms (Tim Bernars-Lee), some are 3.0, etc.- 'behavior' influence comes in with community input
@jen and @imran -- this is good I'll pull it in next
Imran - good pt...health 1.0 = content, health 2.0 = content+community, health 3.0=content+community+commerce, health 4.0=content+community+commerce+coherence...information online is first step. Then communities form around sharing/rating, etc. of content.
It seems like the focus is on information... I wonder how Health 2.0 can be more about behavior?
also, recruiting docs came up on Twitter this week - how do you do it (all callers) or how do you recommend HIT, eHealth, mHealth, Health 2.0 co's do it?
athena health is tracking 30% growth for next year. Other companies on the call? Goals for 09?
after getting those squared away, where are we headed wtih mHealth
Is this a bubble set to implode? How will current credit crisis impact the market? where are we headed with regards to security and privacy, what about feds/pseudo feds (CCHIT) getting involved to set standards/certificating apps
@John, what are you most interested in?
that is a pretty simplistic question to start with - hope you ramp it up
For those of you listening, please ask questions in the chat or raise your hand to ask a question in the last 15 minutes
Again, please use the chat through out ... - Sean (RWW)
