Squawk Box October 8 - Touchphone Smackdown! Conference call organized by Alec Saunders

Agenda
If you love touchscreen smartphones, today's show is for you.

This morning the news is all about RIM's Blackberry Storm. Today is the day that it will be officially announced, not that there haven't been leaks galore. And last week, Nokia announced their MusicXpress 5800.

Both touchphones, with music, these devices are designed to go up against Apple's iPhone.

We're gonna handicap the contenders' odds on the show this morning.

the carrier is the one who cares about the carrier

So nobody has asked one important question: is the GSM side of the Verizon release of this phone locked or not?
picture
Besides the phone features, does anyone else care about the carrier? I refuse to do business with Verizon and love T Mobile service. Also, my extended family all use T Mobile family plan so we never worry about minutes.
