Agenda
The FCC would expressly revoke the ESP exemption for Interconnected VoIP traffic. Such a decision would not only have a financial impact on Interconnected VoIP provider. The FCC’s counsel has already told the court that this exclusive jurisdiction means that states can still apply things like state USF contributions and other things (regardless of whether it is an information service and regardless of whether there is federal jurisdiction). Revoking the ESP exemption is a key problem.

Carl, it is about maintain total control, their fear of innovation and suppressing competition.... Point to one truly innovative service from the TelCOs/CabeCOs which is not a replication from the VoIP2.0/Web2.x companies....

Ed Pimentel said:
I am sure, those in the know see this as CableCOs/TelCOs anti-competitives manuevers to limit innovation and competition.. we should not be surprise.
And they already have put on VoIP providers the other items: 911, CALEA, USF, number portablity - it seems that interconnection is the only other downside - and collecting access the upside for becoming a Title II service
Dan York said:
Hahaha... I went to unmute myself and disconnected!
I dont know how they could require all of the Title II requirements to VOIP like interconnection
back to mute
